I really liked the creativity of this movie and the idea of Santa Claus being a phenomenon protected by government. The only thing that annoyed me was all the swearing. It’s definitely not a kids movie even though it centers on ideas that are great for kids.

Definitely a great science fiction film; I peg it more as sci-fi than horror and appreciate the lack of unnecessary gore. It had a few bloody scenes, but nothing totally unwatchable. Daniel Kaluuya’s performance was absolutely phenomenal; he was definitely the highlight of the movie. I also loved the way the film explored deeper themes like the relationships between humans and animals, hubris, and what happens when you try to tame/control things you don’t understand. 4 stars instead of 5…

The Pod Generation 2023
I loved the concept and the way this film explored the problem of technology. There was a lot of interesting symbolism going on (the eyes, plants vs. technology) and the movie seemed to comment on the ways feminism has gone awry. Overall enjoyed and would recommend. I think the ending could have been a little more realistic, so that’s the reason I’m not giving it 4.5 or even 5. But overall a wonderful movie and fantastic social commentary.
