  THIS was the film that made Andy love buzz light year? Yeah, no. That premise needed an homage/parody of 80/90s sci-fi action films. Not a remake of the opening 10 minutes of Up, followed by a mopey hero, a lazy time travel plot that the Lego movie did better, and a not-particularly funny or memorable crew of elderly and middle aged characters. Pixar seems to not understand that not every film should be trying to make you cry. Sometimes people want to cheer. For Fs sake, it’s supposed to be a movie about Space Rangers.

  Buckeroo Banzai meets Monty Python’s Meaning of Life meets the Matrix. And it all just works so well.
