    i love how kurosawa’s ghosts sway between what is familiar and what is unfamiliar so eerily. familiar feelings through unpredictable movements.
    the lady in red appears almost always in half-forgotten places, places not totally abandoned, but not really lived in either, in a world that is already half-dead; muddy harbor landscapes, rusty construction sites, crumbling wallpaper. the world is already a sort of wasteland, everything is run down, even the protagonist’s appartment. and she is literally seeping through the cracks.…
