Mikey Madison was fantastic and her performance made meaning out of a fairly thinly-developed character. I didn’t know anything about Ani’s personality or dreams or desires outside of the boy she meet a week ago, which was in retrospect disappointing. I enjoyed the coming-of-age story and the final scene was stunning, but overall found the film repetitive and a bit limp. I’m hoping the actor who played Vanya is incredible and not typecast because I’m a little triggered by that whole deal.

I was on board most of the way through, waiting for the payoff that must happen to have made this movie such a huge hit, but it never came. The movie’s internal logic didn’t make any sense - why would Demi keep switching bodies and suffering the consequences if she wasn’t experiencing living in the younger body? You’re paying an ~arm and a leg~ to be in a coma for a week and then not remember what it was like…

Fun time, much snatching, Donald Sutherland has a lot of confidence and it’s working for him

Scariness was overhyped a lot, to the point where it felt like a letdown, but I loved the atmosphere of dread. Nic Cage was insane. Probably revealed him too soon, but loved the whole vibe of this movie with the Satanic Panic overtones. Beautifully shot with some surprising moments and classic Oz Perkins imagery, but the final act was underbaked. This is why everyone hates dolls
