Just one of the best 4.5 star movies -- I can now identify a handful of flaws, but honestly they're kind of cute little things and the rest of it is just so overwhelmingly powerful. I get lightheaded when I think about Jessica and Paul taking on the consciousnesses of their ancestors-- the movie conveys it so convincingly, and it just sounds like the worst thing ever. I can't imagine taking on just my father's burdens and flaws, let alone the whole family tree.

My kind of sentimental tear-jerker. The characters and their conversations feel real in a way that rom-coms typically do not achieve, as this movie is more concerned with making you feel at home with these characters and to love them like friends. I was a little confused by the relationship by the end -- a lot of time jumps, a lot of things left unspoken -- but that's not necessarily a detriment, just something to think about.

stellar. I didn't doubt Luca for a second but this still blew me away. I had been thinking about how we all needed a truly good sports movie and this absolutely delivers, feeling like it came from another time while also using innovative and modern filmmaking. A full range of emotions on display!

Was hoping to have a more emotional connection this time around, but I find this to be more a 'thinking' movie than a 'feeling' one. There are so many characters and so many layers that I couldn't focus in completely on any one emotional nugget. I at least understood the framing device completely and could have some very real thoughts about the artist's struggle. Wes is absolutely at the top of his technical game these days, and I have all the faith in the world that he'll round back to something more straightforward for simpletons like me.
