this film is exactly how i would imagine a child in Grace's situation to view the events that happened to her, i think it's an extremely accurate look into a child's mind. i have always found stop motion/clay-mation films to be soothing, and this certainly delivers that feeling of comfort as well.
the realisation was the perfect ending for me, and the whole movie was a good portrayal of the journey of life.
a lot was missing from this film – i think it could've been a lot longer (as it spanned 20 years, but missed a lot of parts of the captive's life out) and that would've solved a lot of the issues as there would've been more time to go into depth with what was happening in certain scenes and moments and expand further on parts that lacked detail. the ending, specifically, felt quite rushed. you never even got to see…
I thought this film was going down the path of being a bit too cliche for me, but I ended up being thoroughly surprised!
The twists and turns in it were amazing, and it does a great job of pulling at your emotions and making you feel like you're sinking. I would definitely watch this film again.
A beautifully and very well done tv show. Evan Peters fits and plays the role extremely well.
