  Cookie-cutter revenge plot, recycled one-dimensional villains, and boy oh boy was it looong. The performances were mostly fine, but the dialogue was uh... lacking to say the least.   Beyond the Black Rainbow 2010

  Should have been a short film. The plot is barren and drags on for waaay too long for what it is, and the ending was really dumb.

  However, there's still quite a bit to appreciate here. Colorful psychedelic cinematography accompanied by great sound design and music helped compensate for the general lack of substance. For a directorial debut, it's not bad. Still, Mandy is a much more enjoyable and complete film, and I would recommend anyone watch that first.
