  I've watched this movie way too many times. All time Jack Black performance here. "Dude, I never went to college and check me out. I'm kick ass!" is a classic.   Ehh. Kudos to the guy on making a thing, but just too low production value for me to enjoy. Also just goes into weird areas and doesn't focus on the production at all even though he had access to the director and most of the cast. Just strange choices.   Sometimes I start a movie and I kind of go in assuming around what rating i'd have in mind. For this one, I kind of assumed maybe a 3 star-4 star range. I knew i'd like it. I didn't know i'd love it. There's an undeniable charm to Jewison's depiction of New York in this film. It feels so real, and not over the top.
