Boston boy restarting a love affair with film.
Love monsters, dark humor, and the occasional musical.

Heavily fictionalized version of the discovery and signing of Cornish folk musician group “Fisherman’s Friends”. Nice story and some okay performances but lacking in depth, narrative tension, and originality.
Not a great film but definitely an off-the-walls, fun movie. An ATM calling people assholes (notably the director of the film in his cameo), a soda machine murdering people by shooting the cans out, and marauding Mack trucks are just some of the highlights.
Bad-ass film. Dev Patel is great as a laconic man seeking revenge against powerful men, brutal fight scenes balanced by slower moments of reminiscences and interactions with social commentary import.
The beginning of a 35+ year-old franchise (films, television, comics, etc.). It takes itself more serious than the later films, but is a quality cult film with some good black humor thrown in. Shot on a small budget, it nevertheless maintains a creepy feel throughout the film (I love the low-to-the-ground, rushing camera work).
