This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
At first, I was unable to process what happened to Sophie's father, or Calum in the end. I frankly had to search up an article but in no time I was able to understand whatever happened to Calum. I feel like this movie could've been more emotional if the plot were straightforward clear with the ending, but overall I find this film sad especially knowing that my dad has been through the same position as Calum, and I can image myself as Sophie during the times when my family are having a tough moment.

Beautiful, calming, painful. From my perspective, this movie expresses that love is truly unfair. It expresses how difficult it is to move onto a new life and how tough it is to overcome the fact that you have been forgotten by the one you loved. Sometimes I'd like to simply visualize this movie as a scene where sakura petals fall onto the ground in slow motion and until it eventually dies.
