  I love the idea of the building of this structure as a metaphor for the immigrant experience. Everyone keeps trying to change his work and make it more acceptable to their own tastes instead of letting his work reflect his own experiences.

  It wouldn't be a Robert Eggers movie if someone in the theater didn't get mad during the credits. The man next to us yelled at his sons for "wasting 120 minutes of my life." Once again, Eggers' cinema is too powerful for the masses to handle. Merry Christmas.
