Lady Vengeance 2005
Beautifully directed no doubt, yet extremely mediocre. Maybe because I knew what to expect heading into this film.
With East Asian films I struggle to distinguish between the voices of different characters until I familiarize myself with them. I was lost for the first few minutes in this film.

I'd put this movie in the category of 'movies to watch when you want to feel something'. I will concede I did not have the patience to fully enjoy this movie, but it still evoked a sense of poignance. It is very slow and simple. The score is simply perfect.
I fail to articulate why, but this movie reminds me of Good Time (2017).

I liked the opening sequence. It was an excellent introduction to Barbieland. I could see and appreciate the effort put into set design.
