  Ran is overly tragical, theatrical and a masterclass in movement, composition and sheer craftmansship from a late master of this art.

  I love how this makes choices that are simple but yet genius. How it uses color, sound and music. Especially in that first battle sequence.

  I think one can learn so much about editing in a natural way that makes the progression from shot to shot seem so organic and fluent from this Film its crazy.

  Anthony Perkins gets thrown into a kafkaesque bureaucratic nightmare and into fascist and typical Welles expressionistic Noir environmet (presented through production Design and camera)

  What is this parabolic and surreal dream about? Is it about a fictional character fighting against the writers intentions OR maybe about a man standing trial before god.
