  Some Assorted Thoughts

  - Very skillfully made History Channel Dad-core movie. Can draw a straight line from to movie's Oscar to Oppenheimer's.

  - Dialog in this feels extra alien, think that's the Italian touch in play.

  - Him learning the proper way to piss at night (inside the bowl, not into the water of the bowl to not wake others) in a re-education camp has me really considering adopting this plan in our nation, but mostly just for that.

  - Holy shit that Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Byrne score is unreal. Absolutely transcendent stuff here.

  The Brave Archer 1977

  I like that they somehow managed to spend 5 minutes naming characters at the beginning of the movie, as if that would make it easier to follow. I’m a simple man. I love the comfortable little soundstages of the Shaw Brothers, and seeing people I recognize from their pool of actors. It’s about as close as I get to repertory theater.
