Man, I had such higher expectations for this one, specially as a son of an architect.
Mostly all of the praise that I can think for this movie falls into its technical quality. The soundtrack was quite amazing, providing and incredible tone and setting for the film. Almost 20 years since I've watched this, i had a surprisingly great time. It trueley has a genuine care for its setting and its characters, as well as a very confident and iconic style.
Really loved some of the effects used here, along with the care brought to the car scenes. The more grounded story and setting makes for a much more compelling watch than the newest installements.
Camp as it is, point breakish as it is, its a well worth watch.
A very powerful portrayal of the brazilian dictatorship. A well known story in Brazil retold for new audiences and a new generation.
As someone that wasn't too familiar with what happened to Rubens Paiva, I can't recommend this movie enough. Pacing, cinematography, setting and soundtrack is on point. So glad it is also getting a more international outreach as well!
