im sorry for all the minutes that went by while i watched this movie. turf agenda imo
very watchable even some thirty years later. what made this much more than just a thriller to me was its layers and layers of connotation and stab at deep-rooted societal issues that are, in reality, much more horrifying than a serial killer that could be trapped behind the bars.
above anything, this film is about clarice's transformation not only as a FBI agent, but a woman tackling physical, vile things society throws at her while expecting her to perform *more*, compared to her colleagues.
lecter isn't that scary if you think about chilton tbh.
It did a really good job of capturing something that aching, awkward part of this part of life that's so hard to pinpoint and describe. It's not a story with tons of buildups or flashy visuals, but it is etched out this raw, strange love story that somehow encompasses so many other things in life.
Less of a movie and more of a stranger's diary entry that captures you and sucks you into their life for a brief moment.
Pulled my brain a apart a bit with the sacrifice. Definitely checks the mark for being a mystery/thriller with its plot twists. Even though it's filmed quite a bit ago and *some* plots you can see coming, it still has its own twists and turns that are hard to see coming and a solid logic following. The ending was a bit disappointing - I was kind of expecting at least some sort of wrap-up for the two, but wasn't given…
