Andrei Rublev 1966
99/100
Andrei Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev is a true masterpiece, and it is not for the faint of heart. This is not a film meant to be fun or enjoyable, but it is intended to be thought-provoking and challenging. Tarkovsky's methodical filmmaking style and his exploration of religion, human nature, and artistic freedom make this one of the most difficult and confronting films I have ever experienced.

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters 1985
99/100
In the first, say, 20 minutes of Mishima I thought it was incredibly overrated; and then I understood the gimmick and what was going on and wow, this was great. On rewatch I've a feeling this will become my favourite film ever.

Fight Club 1999
I’ve been trying to find time all week to write a proper review of this, but alas I can’t seem to find the time (I suppose that’s a good thing)

Lady Ballers 2023
Funny, offensive but simple. All it needed to be.
First say ~30minutes were actually a piece of shit, questionable camera shots and jokes/dialogue that didn’t land, but then it transformed. Jokes in the second 2 thirds were marvelous and the cameos were worked to aplomb.
For what it’s worth - a fine film

Gone Girl 2014
93/100
Gone Girl is a film that exemplifies the Fincher's evolution in craftsmanship. Building upon the successful elements of his previous film "The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo," Fincher has crafted a film that is both minimalistic and immerses the audience in the story's setting.
Fincher's collaboration with and Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor is a standout in film history and should be spoken about similarly to Leone/Morricione and Spielberg/Williams. The score, though muted and toned down, works in perfect…
