  Fun sports movie but I wasn’t entirely impressed by the pacing. Felt like the success came just out of nowhere, and it didn’t even really feel like a product of the new statistics models that the show makes a large deal about.

  Cyberpunk Edgerunners has been a show on my radar for a while now, as it was a very popular Netflix-distributed  anime that my friends raved about. Knowing their track record with films (A Whisker Away, Drifting Home…) I was pretty skeptical and now that I finished I can say that my doubt was justified. I get that it’s only ten episodes, but it feels as rushed as the edgerunners try to be.

  I think it’s fitting that there are so many subtleties, minute details, and moving parts in Liz and the Blue Bird considering music, what the film is highly centered around, exemplifies those qualities.
