With a fantastic soundtrack, bizarrely brilliant dialogue and great comedic performances, Scorsese portrays a story that both demonises and glorifies itself simultaneously. A capitalistic, patriarchal, homosocial hellscape that was constructed to both entertain and critique the American society of Greed. A descent into the madness of corrupt capitalism and government. Jordan Belford was a cult leader to the American capitalist class. Yet despite this paradox, Wolf of Wall Street remains a great film which encapsulates everything that is wrong with American culture.
