The Brutalist 2024
Many feelings. I walked out the theatre unable to tell whether the awe i felt from the sheer grandness, technical, and artistic prowess of this film could ever escape the suffocating prevalence of the violence that underpins its narrative. Oppression breeds oppressors.
I really don’t know it was just an uneasy watch and not for the reasons I expected or wanted it to be. Complex and praiseworthy nonetheless.
Still, for a three and a half hour runtime, it felt glaringly incomplete.
