  There is beauty in the theme of the obsessed artist and I think this movie does it justice. How much do you let your craft consume you and do you persist until your identity is inseparable from your art? Do you allow yourself to be eaten alive by your drive for perfection? Better yet, does a true artist even care if they only exist inside their maxim and are only a shell of themselves outside of their work? Then the question remains at the end of the film, is Andrew even a person or is he little more than just a conduit for Fletcher’s music?
