Dennis Villanue for me is an incredibly jarring director. His movies are almost always artistically brilliant and enjoyable to watch. I've never really watched any of his films and said that I was having a particularly bad time. However, I do sometimes feel like his films tend to just play like an art showcase. Doctor Strange is a kind of film I miss from the MCU. A self contained story about a superhero and his own personal struggles. There are some nods to the greater MCU here but for the most part, it likes to play in its own sandbox. It’s super funny, extremely entertaining, and gets you invested in the character of Strange. It also has a really great supporting cast from the Ancient One and Wong to even Melanie. I really enjoyed this movie! [7.5/10]

This movie is an actual joke. There is nothing in the film that is even slightly interesting. *Except maybe for Rajkumar Rao who is the ONLY THING that stopped me from giving this movie a straight up 0.5/5.
The story was slightly interesting, but the execution was absolutely terrible. SO REPETITIVE and POINTLESS that I swear I nearly smacked my table 20 times before the movie…
