Rarely does Marvel produce such a delicious morsel of sapphic beauty & magical mischief. Essential for anyone interested in dabbling in the ancient art.
I’d sooner wish they had dunked the money it took to make this film in the ocean. A trash bag that rolls around in the wind going place to place to ultimately end up in a dumpster fire has more integrity and truth to it than this film & its attempt to reach the last drillable point of asinine mediocrity.
I was primed to love it. I was ready for an emotional movie that would make me smile and sing and cry and sing.
But alas, nothing happened.
Overproduced and underfelt, even Defying Gravity didn’t elicit a reaction from me - the most emotionally available audience member you can find.
The green train was cool and the tulips were all real… so that’s… something?
The core of the bond between Glinda & Elphaba was lost among all the “real” foldable luggage.
Maybe the second part will make it make sense?
