The Talented Mr. Ripley 1999
1/ the flow of the movie lets the train of thought get lost pretty frequently, especially towards the end. 2/ ‘viva la bi’ is one of the few if not any ultimate conclusions. 3/ the shots and color palette is reaally easy and pleasing on the eyes. may be the whole motive to watch the movie.

5 for the diva miyazaki truly is + the studio’s work. the film itself is a 3.75 for me. few things did not make sense to me and felt unaddressed. YET having grown up with miyazaki, seeing his last work definitely is a full circle moment in terms of my own childhood as well. i love and will miss how gently this utterly artistic world hugs the first time watchers.
