Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy 2011
It would be hard to fuck up when the source material is so good and it certainly isn't fucked up. Stylish, HVH as the DP, good performances. But none of the relationships between the characters glistened for me. They felt dull, rushed and unexplained. I'd rather sit for another and truly understand the pits of deception or highs of devotion etc.

Baffled this won an oscar????? Truly feels like a film with nothing new to offer, despite the chances to. There are heaps of social commentary and subtext that are ripe for addressing and better directors would relish the opportunities to go there, which was really disappointing.
