this book really did not need a film adaptation. i understand it’s from humbert’s perspective and the taboo nature of the story would translate into some scenes that are pretty difficult to watch and sexualise the actress playing lolita, but shouldn’t the latter be a good reason to not adapt it to film?? even if the movie aims to evoke shock and disgust out of the audience, i feel as though it resulted in a glamorisation of the story and…
