For a first watch it’s entertaining, tense and fucking funny. And then it ended and I thought about it for a little while. My main takeaway is it’s undeniably sad, while still being those other qualities simultaneously. Such an impressive balancing act. I felt the last shot (really the last 10 seconds) was so powerful and changed how I see the movie in hindsight.

Signs 2002
Gets better and better with age. The crisis of faith storyline being wrapped in a horror movie makes both aspects hit much harder. But seriously, have any movie characters ever been more irresponsible with their dogs? RIP Houdini and Isabel. Terrible owners. That being said, this is in my top 5 all-time. And whenever I have a problem in life, I immediately assume Lionel Pritchard and the Wolfington Brothers are the cause.
