  Anyone looking for queer horror will like this one. The style is fun and it’s easy to cheer for the heroes. That said, the plot lines fall off from over complexity and people talk too long without enough monsters. I enjoyed the watch enough to want more and better from the director.

  Delivers on both drowning and numbers. Overwhelms with beautiful scenes with more detail and action than is possible to digest. Otherworldly reality at the intersection of rural life, beaches, bureaucracy, and romance. Easily keeps attention because apparently I want to count while watching movies.

  This movie puts a lot on the viewer to recognize and understand power disparities in gender, class, popularity, beauty standards, and the immaturity of youth. The characters talk and do activities as normal, but everything is overflowing with social context that makes overwhelming with interpersonal tension. The bloody parts are horror, and also, the grind of putting oneself through school is horror.
