  I am fully Southland Tales pilled. This is one of the definitive pieces of American cinema of the last two decades. The fact that this ever got major funding is truly baffling. Every casting choice reaches above and beyond. Donnie Darko + Southland Tales is one of the most insane one-two punches a director has ever put out. Truly incredible stuff.

  Oh my fucking god dude this is insane. American blockbusters suck ass man this is real movies. This features a dance number that puts every sequence in Singin in the Rain to shame AND a dude fights a lion with his bare hands. Dudes rock, director went beast mode, etc. Indescribable. If you have the chance to see this in theaters I highly highly recommend you take it

  This is a five-star “four star movie” if that makes any sense. Definitely rough around the edges and could’ve used an extra half hour but like, god damn what a movie. There’s like five scenes in here that could be the funniest thing I’ve seen all year. I don’t know that the philosophical bullshit in this fully congeals but like, it comes pretty damn close and what you get is infinitely more interesting than the average movie. So incredibly glad…
