I was actually pleasantly surprised by this and its a very accessible kids movie.

I don't think its spoliers to say that Megatron (formerly D-16) turns evil here but I am saying that if you have sense of pacing you think that it escalates pretty quickly.

I'm not sure if Hemsworth imitation of Cullen's voice is supposed to be comical but it definitely comes across as such even in serious moments. I mean this as respectfully as possible but I can listen to Johansson narrate the Bible.

The end does devolve into cartoon violence.

This is the single worst war movie ever put to film in modern history.

Imagine getting a bunch of the hottest young actors at the time and then directing them to give the worst Texas accent you've ever heard.

Movie tries to pull you in with the "war brothers will sacrifice everything to save you" but it never earns it. It just frustrates till the end with the sheer amount of unearned emotional moments and incoherent plot.

I don't know why I don't like these movies but I just don't. Love the genre, director, writer, composer, cinematographer, etc. but I don't like these two movies save for the moments of ferociousness in each one.
The visuals are almost always great and makes you wonder.

The story isn't interesting which has prompted me to read the books. I did read an interview that these movies don't support that Paul is a good person which i disagree with the execution if that's the purpose.

Want to like the movie as a whole but the only good things are the technical aspects.

It has its lulls but the sheer lightning performance from Delroy Lindo will keep you awake the night after watching. My only complaint is the Frenchness in this movie is unbearably french.
