Barbarian 2022
I love the shift of tones. More importantly, I love seeing Justin Long in movies again. The intersection of three separate stories is where the brilliance lies. I just don’t understand how that creature bred from incest could be so physically superior. I had a hard time suspending disbelief towards the end.

Bodies Bodies Bodies 2022
There are strong elements of horror, but don’t let that fool you. This movie is a full on comedy. The phenomenal young talent in this movie highlights the depth of each character. I’m jealous of the screenwriter for writing a story this structurally tight. They don’t make these improvised-driven comedies anymore. This style of movie evoked a sense of nostalgia for me, while still providing a uniquely modern commentary on the horrors of millennial culture.
It’s a small film, but damn is it worth watching.
