I have a higher tolerance for Ryan Reynolds playing himself than I'd care to admit in a casual conversation, and I suspect the other review scores for this (which, holy volatile) are grading on that curve. This isn't a great movie, but I don't think it's really trying to be; riding on its premise and prioritizing fun over substance, it settles nicely into the "goofy romp" popcorn tier.

The back half takes a lot of missed swings, veering a bit…

There were so many moments during this set where I thought to myself, "This would be significantly funnier if it was done in the podcast studio."

Just something to remember: If you ask someone, "What did you think of the YMS video, and did it change your opinion on the Kimba controversy?" and you assume that the answer is going to be "I thought it was great and it convinced me I've been lied to," or even "Eh, I still think there was some unconscious art theft going on," then you officially spend too much time on the internet.

The actual answer you'll get 99.9% of the time will be "...What the hell is Kimba?"
