  I have a higher tolerance for Ryan Reynolds playing himself than I'd care to admit in a casual conversation, and I suspect the other review scores for this (which, holy volatile) are grading on that curve. This isn't a great movie, but I don't think it's really trying to be; riding on its premise and prioritizing fun over substance, it settles nicely into the "goofy romp" popcorn tier.

  There were so many moments during this set where I thought to myself, "This would be significantly funnier if it was done in the podcast studio."

  Part of what makes Noel's comedy work is that, for most of the last 5 years, he's been honing his craft alongside his partner Cody. That doesn't mean he can't do solo stand-up; it just means he can't automatically do it.
