    A more coherent Jupiter Ascending. A slightly less uncomfortable Valerian. Another in a long line of big budget, cgi driven, plot hole filled, sci-fi movies that is very entertaining as long as you don't engage with it.

    First and foremost the romance B plot is bad. It really hurts Alita's growth as a character. She has to switch between cynical pragmatism and naive whimsy depending on whether Hugo is present or not. Their entire arc together is very cliche story…

    A drug fueled revenge nightmare set in a prog rock album cover. Mandy is essentially if Nicolas Winding Refn only listened to King Crimson instead of Kavinsky.

    Much like Drive or Only God Forgives, Mandy is carried by striking visuals, wild cinematography, and the faces of the actors.
