I remember having tried and failed to be a fan of the novel when it first came out and all the cool, mysterious, but also Christian girls at my school were reading it. I was eager to see how "The Fault in Our Stars" would translate to the big screen. Unfortunately, the film also fell short for me, failing to capture the heart and soul of what it feels like to lose someone too young.

The film leans into the classic elements of exorcism horror, delivering the expected scares and unsettling moments. It relies on tried-and-true techniques, and they work well to create a sense of dread and unease.
