A lot to unpack with this one! I’ll start off with what I really enjoyed. The score was astounding and was definitely the best of the year (aside from Dune 2) so it getting that Oscar doesn’t surprise me at all. Adrian Brody, controversy surrounding him aside, was spectacular and gave so much depth to the character I thought this was based on a real person. As good as he was, Felicity Jones was even better. She was so captivating…

The Last Showgirl 2024
This was teed up to be Pamela’s role of a lifetime but fell a little flat in the screenplay, especially the last act. Pamela Brenda and Dave gave great and very compelling performances, the costumes were amazing, and I like a lot of the cinematography choices. So much set up in the story went nowhere, a little disappointed

Yeaaaah this one didn’t really hit the mark for me. Mikey Madison was superb for sure but her character felt a little underdeveloped and the story kind of went nowhere. The first act was definitely my favorite part but the entire sequence of them looking for Vanya was so drawn out. Also not to be that guy, but the amount of profanity in this movie is like…. actually insane. Like I think the dialogue left something to be desired. I’ll give three stars because it certainly had some gorgeous shots and Mikey Madison’s performance but yeah, kinda disappointed in this one.
