At first I wasn't sure where the story was going, but going into the second half of this movie I was completely hooked. Great performance by Jake Gyllenhaal. The biggest disappointment for me was the sound, more so in the first half. Ambient music is played over the film during times where it made more sense to me to play the natural sound of the scene.

A fresh new take on a classic from my childhood, this movie adds lots of bright colors and super high-quality design to the original story. It followed the original storyline closely, which I appreciated, and added some humor with Pumbaa and Timon. I enjoyed watching this movie after not watching the original for nearly a decade, however sometimes the dialogue seemed a bit choppy and i is difficult to put human emotions on such realistic animal design. Otherwise, really great work recreating an amazing movie.

This movie is mostly what you expect: action, and some bad-ass mud. With most of the plot laid out in the first 15 minutes, this movie is easy to follow which lets you enjoy the gore and muscles. The last half hour of the film is very entertaining, with only the Predator and Schwarzenegger left its a hardcore face-off and this boosts the overall rating.
