  The Killing of a Chinese Bookie 1976

  Very compelling character study. I’m still thinking about it long after watching. There’s something about the cinematography that’s so intensely isolating, but, at the same time, there’s also a comfort to it which makes it more intimate. The scene where Gazzara is taken into the mob’s car after getting ruffed up is also one of the most realistic depictions of mafia coercion I’ve seen on screen.
