Beautiful cinematography. Small cast, vivid dialogue and characters. Not just vivid but larger-than-life, brighter-, more-glaring-than-life characters. Very theatrical. Almost too similar to Promising Young Woman, not just the visuals but the pacing and the overall dark Gothic atmosphere, is this like gonna be her thing, like how Wes Anderson has his thing? Relative to its length, I might’ve gone back and watched clips from Spotlight as often as I have The Wire. Probably too dry and boring to many but I love the show-burning understated drama, not to mention moving subject and compelling characters.
Saw some clips of interviews with the real-life Paul Saviano and Mitchell Garabedian after, they clearly feel the film did the story justice but also it’s cool you can see how well the film captured the intensity they feel about their cause

Baby Driver 2017
Stellar cinematography. Every shot seemed like it could be a movie poster. Action sequences were lined up with music and super fun
Characters were portrayed solidly, and kinda fun, but no real depth or development. Similarly, virtually no plot to speak of
