  A mimic of reality portrayed as absurdity. The movie equivalent of a dude you meet who has fucked breath nudging you and asking if “you got it” taking your silence as inferiority. We got it, it just wasn’t good.

  This didn’t need to be done, nor by an ambitious director such as Eggers who respected the source material so much so that he rid the film of any life. The ending was the only thing that had any semblance of him as a director, otherwise a deeply unremarkable film that is a symptom of the current artistic pandemic that is particularly plaguing cinema (pretty cinematography ≠ good film - I’m starving)
