  It’s so easy to watch something well done and make some glib comment on Letterboxd, hiding behind irony to cover up the fact that I am not a movie critic and what if i say something dumb? During the middle act of straight slapstick comedy (the whole theater was laughing out loud) I would have gone for that. But after that end… idk it feels a bit disrespectful. 

  More than anything else that end stuck with me. I’m still hearing those windshield wipers.

  Not a feel good movie, that’s for sure. Incredible how the main characters could be so awful and the rich family so “nice” and yet by the end it didn’t really feel like there were any good guys or bad guys. I was expecting some sort of thriller/horror movie but this felt more like a classic tragedy, with the father’s hamartia being pride. Not necessarily even the bad kind of pride. More like the story was highlighting how the poor…
