The Love Witch 2016
I can’t believe this was made in 2016, it feels so outdated in terms of what is saying about women, sex, how to please a man, being fat, you name it. I gave it more credit when I thought it was from the 80s—of course there’s mixed messaging about whether the love witch is good or bad. Of course there’s gonna be fucked up things said about a woman’s role being to please a man by being his sex object. One of the characters tells the love witch early on, “you base your whole worth around pleasing a man” and then NOTHING is done with that!
