This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The male lead was a walking red flag and yet Lina must've been colour blind. Their relationship was rushed and even from the start it was obvious to the audience Johnnie was after her money.
The use of music and subtle jokes added to the intrigue of the film. The audience are encouraged to hate and suspect Johnnie along with Lina.
However, the ambiguity at the end implies that he really was out to kill her, as when Lina says…
It felt like a very long film and I noticed as I was watching it I became very opinionated of Cash's actions. The film begins at the end, the story told in a circular narrative through the usage of flashbacks.
During those flashbacks the audience see his rise to fame, the abuse of the power he is given, the fall of his career and the balance he eventually finds.
Cash is shown to make many mistakes and initially the audience…
The cinematography made me cringe, the dancing was more like a jumpscare and there were way too many irrelevant songs in it. I felt like the directors just did a lucky dip on 50 iconoc songs and added them without any relevance to the plot The only songs I likes was the dues Perfect and million to one before Camila Cabello decided to sing it wayy to many times.
The CGI mice were terrifying to say the least and overall…
A lot of my friends didn't really like it but I feel like it displayed society and how it harms both men and women equally as well. I wouldn't class it at a film for children due to the deeper meanings and it shows how the barbie dolls both helped (showing they can achieve their dreams) and harmed young children (with the harsh beauty standards they displayed). The bright optimistic colours of barbieland contrasted to societies reality but shows how both worlds are damaging and that an equilibrium needs to be found.
