Pur con qualche ingenuità di sceneggiatura, Il Ragazzo Dai Pantaloni Rosa è un film vero e tragicamente delicato. Il suo merito più grande non è quello di rendere giustizia ad Andrea, ma di onorare la sua bella, seppur breve, vita. Un nobile intento in cui riesce appieno.
È una storia a cui bisogna augurare ancora un lungo viaggio.
Rarely do movies excel in both form and substance like The Substance. Fargeat’s absurd horror satire is an exquisite gem that can be read on so many levels, body dismorphia by proxy being just the most apparent one.
Is it a cautionary Cinderella tale? Or the failed comeback story of a Gorgon, whose monstrosity was also caused by men, according to one version of the myth?
The Substance disseminates smart, subtle, hints in a striking visual manner. It’s hard to believe this is Fargeat’s second feature.
Suspending belief has never been funnier!
The Well is the product of a self-indulgent director, who likes himself a lot and clearly boasts about it in every single shot.
Too bad that Zampaglione lacks the honesty to realise it – too good for the audience, unaware that they’re in for one hell of a campy ride.
