After watching just one and a half episodes, I get the feeling that it's typically “American soapy”, a bit of the same vibe as Virgin River 🤮. The dialogues are poorly written and it doesn't seem worth my time to continue watching. I am curious, though, as to how it managed to receive a 4-star rating on Letterboxd.

I know Malia because I worked there some years ago. I was part of a film crew making after-movies for this kind of party. Back then I was already horrified by what happened at those events and to see all those young people travelling to this beautiful island only to get wasted and assist to such superficial parties. What a world we live in!
