The Cabin in the Woods 2011
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this film. While I typically prefer my horror movies to be simply just horror, this film proved to be both captivating and rather inventive in comparison to other movies in its genre. With the right amount of comedic relief and a storyline that constantly made you go "what the fuck?" I have to say, this movie was quite enjoyable. Get ride of the final scene where the gods take over the world and all that bullshit, and you, my friends, have a pretty solid horror/comedy on your hands.

The Hunt 2012
Wow. This right here was the most beautifully uncomfortable movie I think I’ve ever seen. The tension in this film was beyond anything I’ve ever felt from a film before, and I could physically feel it in my body from beginning to end. With a plot that was both equally as frustrating as it was heartbreaking, it was difficult not to empathize with each and every one of these characters. Utterly disturbing and yet exceptionally done. A movie I think everyone should watch at least once in their life.
