“Why isn’t the main character named Margaret?”
In my eyes, I think it’s because she isn’t the main character. Sure, the story follows Lisa and her endeavors, but the over-arching theme of the film is that the world doesn’t revolve around her. Contrary to her perceptions, the people around her live lives equally as complex as her own. Her classmates have just as many opinions as she does. The conversations of the other restaurant-goers can be heard just as well…
