    Uma, my feral queen, I love you so. this feels like ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHT’s wild, batshit, autistic little sister.

    a lot of the set up felt very repetitive & really wish this had got to the surreal hook way quicker but it’s so weird & wonderful once it gets there that the sheer delight of what you’re seeing unfold makes it worth the wait. the whimsical stop motion element is unbelievably charming & a refreshing tonal change from what would otherwise be normal VFX.

    also another lovely inclusion of the third-gender Hijra community that I fell in love with in Dev Patel’s MONKEY MAN.
