Nosferatu 2024
Probably biased because I love gothic horror stuff, but this is an amazing film. While everyone is understandably raving about the visuals (which are sublime), the pacing and storytelling elements are really what stand out here. Perhaps it speaks more to the strength of the source material but regardless, I was enthralled throughout.

Serenity 2005
Recently rewatched Firefly for the third time and it’s warmth, humour and strong character development always wins me over. A space western Star Trek but for people who aren’t total dweebs.
