  The Electric State 2025

  First off, if you're looking for something like this but way better, just watch The Creator.
  I think this has been treated maybe slightly too harshly because it's the Russos and a huge budget Netflix feature (though I do think a lot of this harshness is justified).
  That being said it does feel pretty rough at times, from the writing, to the surprisingly rough acting, to the lack of a feeling of substance to the spaces the movie takes place…

  In theater review:
  Honestly I was so close to giving this a perfect score, I loved it that much.
  Not only was Spaeney fantastic (as she always is) but this movie was just gorgeous.
  Thrilling, well crafted, scary, full of so much love for the original but also being it's own thing.
  I hope Alvarez is able to make more of these, if he wants to of course.
  Seriously I just immediately want to see this again.

  Slow, methodic, patient, and doesn't bash you over the head with plot or exposition.
  And a reminder of how crazy Texas is.
