A beautifully sad film, stunning architecture and very devastating story. Yet its Zionist undertones threw me off. Zsofia's final speech frames Israel as a refuge and "the Destination"... but is it endorsement or critique? The film's ambiguity made me feel torn, uneasy but also full of admiration.

Irreversible 2002
This film was such an emotional roller coaster… The tunnel scene was unnecessarily and disgustingly too long. I wanted to throw up at least 3 times throughout the movie. Although it was hard to watch it normally after the r*pe scene, i understand that the point is to not normalize and glance over it. i also loved the chronological order and the colour palette of the film

Went into this movie with no expectations but j’adore!
The atmosphere is perfectly eerie (the shot of the black umbrellas in the beginning of the movie is a personal favourite), the costumes are beautiful (need the trench coats so bad) and the story really embodies gothic horror. The bloody scenes are perfectly gruesome and not overdone.
Lily really killed it but Willem Dafoe is definitely the MVP and i give him five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Translated from by
